Sand between our toes

We spent this past weekend in Oceanside, Ca. Spencer had a cousin getting married in the San Diego temple and we have wanted to go to that temple, so we loaded and made the trip.

Paxton rode over a day early with G-pa & G-ma Hansen and Aunt Lindsay. She was so giddy and just couldn't wait to get there. She was so happy, that when we got there I didn't think she would want to leave them and stay with us the rest of the trip. Our resorts were only two block away from eachother, so it was easy to do most things together anyhow.

Friday was Melanie's birthday and G-pa Larry and Uncle Kimball following a few days behind, so we all celebrated with the biggest pizza I've ever seen. It was something like 28".

Saturday was the wedding and later that night the reception in Temecula, Ca. We drove in thru Temecula on our way to Cali. and it was very pretty. As we came that way, we had to go over a mountain pass. Spencer wants to travel every highway in America, so whenever we go somewhere, we take a new route. Anyway it was a pretty drive and as we were going up the pass, there was a sign to watch for big horn sheep next 9 miles. I was excited and hoping to see one. I was driving and it was a very windy road, so I couldn't look off into the hills as much as I wanted. So I asked if anyone had seen any big horn sheep. No, no. Well after that Caden wanted to know what a big CORN sheep was and he kept watch from there on out and continued asking about the big corn sheep. Grandpa Larry also took Caden and Paxton to San Diego and back on the train and they really loved that!

Sunday we hung out till 11am or so and spent a little more time at the beach with the kids and we finally got out the camera! Ever have those trips? Had it with me the whole time and never took a picture. Here is breakfast on the balcony, enjoying the ocean.

This was cool. Both Sat. and Sun. morning we were watching the surfers and the ocean and we saw fins rising out of the water. Notice the surfers are keeping an eye on them as well! We watched them appear and disappear as they traveled farther out. On Sat. there was actually a coast gaurd boat that followed/chased them out quite a ways. Spencer and I decided they were dolphins, but dont know for sure.

Here are just a few at the beach. There was a playground area right on the beach which was nice for Daisy. She wasn't to big on the cold water. On the other hand, Caden and Paxton didn't care how cold it was.
